Just booked my ticket. I leave on June 17th & leave Geneva on July 7th. This is wonderful timing, because I won’t miss Bug’s first birthday and the boys get out of school the week following my arrival.
Plus, as a totally awesome added bonus, my flight connects in Washington D.C. & I found one that lets me arrive around 9 am and doesn’t leave for Geneva until around 6 pm. I have wanted to visit Washington D.C. FOREVER, so this will be just a ‘taste’. I figure I have enough time to do a few of the major monuments & stuff. I am sure that I could spend a week or more there, but 8 hours or so will have to suffice for now. I am assuming I’ll have enough time to walk around the Mall & see all those things. I’d love to do a White House tour as well, but I’m not sure about timing & stuff, I’ll have to check into that.
But yay! I am so excited to go back to France & to stop in Washington. I am going to try to go to Rome while I’m in France, a Vatican tour would be wonderful. I have a bit of time to plan that out though, but I need to keep it in the front of my brain.
The biggest issue now will be saving enough $$ to pay my bills, plus travel expenses & all that…perhaps the Lent No-Shopping will have to continue! (That was sort of the idea anyway…minimalize materialism & learn to love what I already have, + spend $$ on experiences, not clothing and other crap).
22 days until the Vigil, 88 days until France. Yay!
Also, it’s cold today. But sunny! Running this morning was pretty chilly, I think it was about 27 out. But the sun was rising (or rather, had just risen) and I bundled up. I have realized that my running is painfully s l o w, but I am trying not to push too hard & just run my one measly mile, until I can get it to a decent time (which at this point, is anything under 10 minutes) and then maybe I’ll push for 2 miles.
Off to play with Bug.
